The series is inspired by Savino's own "chaotic life growing up in a huge household," and follows a boy named Lincoln, who lives at home with his ten sisters, Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lily. Lincoln Loud is the only boy and the middle child in a family of eleven children residing in the fictional town of Royal Woods, Michigan. After a particularly successful day in which the sisters all win awards, they celebrate at Lynn Sr.'s restaurant. There, the Loud sisters are praised by fans while Lincoln is pushed to the side and ignored. Feeling that he is living in their shadows, he consults his friend Clyde McBride, who tells him about the time he learnt his grandmother's side of the family was from Paris. The Attic is comprised of exposed wood, two exposed light bulbs, a part of the chimney, and various old objects such as games, boxes, an old-fashioned television set, Lynn Sr.'s old camera, a cardboard box full of hand-me-downed clothes, and Lincoln's homemade coffee mugs.

The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino that premiered on Nickelodeon on May 2, 2016. The series revolves around the chaotic everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud, who is the middle child and only son in a large family of 11 children. It is set in a fictional town in southeastern Michigan called Royal Woods, based on Savino's hometown of Royal Oak. The series was pitched to the network in 2013 as a two-minute short film entered in the annual Animated Shorts Program.
The pitch was approved for pilot development on January 30, 2014.[4] In June 2014, Nickelodeon announced that The Loud House had been picked up for a season of 13 episodes. A spin-off, entitled The Casagrandes, was put into development by Nickelodeon in March 2018. Kenya's film and classification board (KFCB) has called for the suspension of several US-produced children's programs running on channels provided by TV company MultiChoice. The board said the cartoons featured "disturbing content glorifying homosexual behavior" which was not suitable for children. The film's soundtrack was released on the same day the film was released, August 20.
In "Pipe Dreams", the closet was transformed into a newly designed bathroom, but had to be converted back to normal after being damaged. In "Time Trap!", the room has grayish red orange walls and carpeting, and dark grayish blue curtains. A live-action version, titled The Really Loud House, was greenlit for Paramount+ on March 24, 2022, and began airing on Nickelodeon on November 3rd of the same year. Every episode in the first season was directed by Chris Savino; "The Price of Admission" and "One Flu Over the Loud House", as well as the second season's "The Old and the Restless", "Vantastic Voyage", and "Patching Things Up" were co-directed by Kyle Marshall.

The Loud children head back to the town on a rowboat and team up to defeat Morag and un-hypnotize Lela. All episodes and segments of this season were produced by Karen Malach, and most were directed by Chris Savino, with him co-directing with Kyle Marshall on the episodes "The Old and the Restless" (#202B), "Vantastic Voyage" (#205B), and "Patching Things Up" (#206A). The only episodes in this season Chris didn't direct were "Frog Wild" (#208B), "Pulp Friction" (#211A), "Room with a Feud" (#214B), "Garage Banned" (#217B), "Change of Heart" (#218A), "Friend or Faux?" (#220B), "Mall of Duty" (#222B), "The Crying Dame" (#225A), and "Snow Way Out" (#226A), all were directed by Kyle Marshall. The Basement is comprised of inconsistently colored walls and floor, one exposed light bulb, Cliff's scratching post, the radiator, the fusebox, and a single consistently depicted window above the washer, dryer, and a sink, on the wall on which the entire kitchen is located above. Lincoln's room was originally a large closet, which conveniently, had a window. Several action figures resembling famous fictional characters appear in Lincoln's room, such as a figure that looks like King Ghidorah from the Godzilla movies, a robot toy that looks exactly like Robby from the 1956 film Forbidden Planet, and another one that looks exactly like Mazinger Z from the manga of the same name. On October 19, 2016, The Loud House was renewed for a third season, which would also consist of 26 episodes, and premiered on January 19, 2018 with "Roadie to Nowhere"/"A Fridge Too Far".
However, not all episodes were directed by Savino; both digital shorts, "Slice of Life" and "Deuces Wild!" (Savino only wrote the shorts), and a few Season 2 episodes were directed solely by Marshall. The second season was greenlit on May 25, 2016 and consists of 26 episodes, beginning on November 9, 2016 with "Intern for the Worse"/"The Old and the Restless" and ended on December 1, 2017 with "Snow Way Out"/"Snow Way Down". For a while, he was a bit older and he had more sisters underneath him and somewhere in the storytelling, we realized that him being kind of, literally the fulcrum of the family [...] all kind of came into play.
After the sisters begin to get attention in the village, Morag tricks Lincoln into riding Lela to try to get back his attention. While he rides the dragon, she uses the gemstone and scepter to hypnotize it into destroying the town so Lincoln would be blamed for the chaos. Feeling guilty for the damage, Lincoln asks the family to return home to Royal Woods. As the family leaves for home, Morag proceeds to make herself the new duchess of the town much to the displeasure of villagers. In retaliation, she hypnotizes Lela again to cause more destruction to the village.
The citizens of Loch Loud congratulate the family and ask Lincoln to resume his place as the duke of the kingdom, though Lincoln declines and instead offers the crown to Angus instead, feeling he deserves it more. This decision is approved by the citizens and the other ghosts of the Loud ancestors. Angus then shows the family members a painting of their ancestors that bears a striking resemblance to them and reveals they ruled the town for many years before sailing away forever. Lincoln eventually learns from Angus that his own ancestral counterpart, the Duke of the family, was the most special member of the family, much to his delight. Wanting to become the new Duke of Loch Loud, Lincoln partakes in many community service events to help restore the village to its former glory and eventually guilt-trips the rest of the family into moving to Scotland forever because they no longer have to share one bathroom.
